I would love to know what type of business you have and where you advertise it online?

I have found several online resources for posting simple banner or button ads and I have found some online podcast sites and newsletter/magazine sites.

Each one helps connect us with a certain group of people/buyers.

I look forward to reading your posts.

Anna,
What a Great Question!

It speaks to the common perception that if you advertise....they will come.

This typically works in traditional business (brick 'n' morter) , but on the Net...there are different rules of engagement.

For example: when was the last time anyone you know sought advertisements on the Net? ... Very few, if any, do.

What we do is search for information that will solve a challenge we may be facing....right?

Your website's content attracts people looking for your specific info. They arrive seeking solutions to their challenge(s).

Not only do you provide good (great) information freely, you recommend where they can buy what they need. (See: no advertising to buy)

Your referrals to your 'warm market' is Powerful and can become very profitable.

Here is how a few of many others have had success in many different fields:

Hope this helps you a little or a lot. :o)

Keep Smiling!

I have a number of different businesses and I also market for clients.

The #1 place to advertise is the topical portal site.

For a manufacturing company this would be Thomas Registar, MFG.com etc.

For a B&B this would mean placing ads in tourism portals, general and area specific.

For my own web design and marketing I find venues like these forums an excellent choice.

Combine your marketing efforts with good SEO and you will see your business prosper.

I get the best online advertising results placing banner ads in online versions of local print newspapers...

Am preparing to give it a go again once school starts back up...
